Love Notes for Mother's Day
Mother's Day is a short few days ahead, and as a mom myself I have to say my favorite part is reading the notes my little ones write me. More than any gift, those notes are so important to me. Plus, it's pretty cute how into their art projects and note writing they get.
As you may know, we're in the midst of our Love Note Challenge, which makes it all the more perfect that I got to watch my kiddos handwrite letters to me. These moments are why we're doing the Love Note Challenge and encouraging everyone to write #MoreLoveNotes. It just means more. (Join us now & follow along on Instagram!)
Now a peek at my little letter-writers in action:
Still need a card for mom? Not too late. Here are some of our faves that you can order NOW! And, as always, they're blank inside -- so you can write your own love note.

Card of the Month: May
Now that May is here and things have thawed, we're right smack in the middle of spring and we feel summer coming in full force.
At Breathless Paper Co., spring and summertime means lemonade stands and playing outside barefoot... so what better card to be our Card of the Month?
This card is one of our favorites from our original Breathless collection. It's not only bright and summery, it's a reminder to make the most of what you have and where you are.
At its simplest, this card is also reminder to actually make lemonade -- from scratch, because there's something amazing about fresh squeezed lemonade when the weather warms. Life is about the little things.
P.S. -- Don't forget to take part in our Love Note Challenge! We want to see the love notes you're writing, because we believe the world needs more love notes. Follow along on Instagram!

The Best Summer Reads for Your Kiddos
Around our house, we're big on books and story time. Especially when school's out during the summertime! Lately, River (our oldest) has been carrying tons of books around in his backpack. It's the cutest thing and it makes us pretty happy.
We've compiled a bunch of our two little ones' favorites (and ours) for you to read this spring and summer. We've specifically chosen the titles that we think will also inspire your kiddos to write more love notes! (P.S. Don't forget to show us a photo of what love notes your little ones are writing for our Love Note Challenge)
River's Faves:
- The Hug Machine by Scott Campbell
- Ferdinand The Bull by Munro Leaf
- The Magic Treehouse Series by Mary Pope Osborne
Scout's Faves:
- The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss
- Curious George by Margret & HA Reys
Ours & Their All Time Faves:
- Rosie Revere Engineer by Andrea Beaty
- Love You Forever by Robert Munsch
- The Day the Crayons Quit / The Day the Crayons Came Home by Drew Daywalt & Oliver Jeffers
Let us know which books you and yours love the most, and which you choose to read from this list.
Plus... here's one more reminder to check out our Love Note Challenge after reading these books with your littles (you can keep up on Instagram)!

Almost time to Celebrate Mom!
Mother's Day is about a month away, and that means it's time to get serious about getting those cards & gifts! No worries -- we've got you covered when it comes to cards & anything else paper goods.
Our Mom's Day cards are some of our favorite. As a mom myself, my favorite part of the day is the handwritten note. That's why we leave our cards blank -- so you can speak from your heart and tell the ones you love how much you love them and why.
Below, check out some cards we think are perfect for Mother's Day. Pretty soon you'll be able to order each and every card individually to your door... stay tuned for that announcement soon on our Instagram (@breathlesspaper)!
Looking Toward Summer
It seems crazy to even be saying the word "summer" (especially because we just got snow here in Nashville this week) but believe it or not, it's coming and it's coming quick.
We can't wait for porch weather and bare feet, and our little ones can't wait for school to be out so that they can run wild.
You may not think of summertime as a "greeting card season" but we do. Partly because we believe in sending notes all year long, but also because of the end of school, graduations and yard parties.
It's the perfect chance to tell a teacher "thanks so much" or a friend "YOU DID IT!!!" Not to mention, we end up using tons of cocktail napkins when it warms up... ;)
Check out some of our favorite cards & goods for this season:
End of School & Graduation
These cards say "congrats" and "thank you" to those who deserve it: our grads and our teachers.
Summertime + Outdoor Gatherings
These cards & cocktail napkins are ideal for host(ess) gifts, "I'm thinking of you"s or for party decor.
Here's hoping it continues to get warmer!
P.S. -- Not sure what cards you're feelin'? Try a grab bag or a card pack!
Card of the Month: March
How is it already March?! Time is absolutely flying this year.
We're especially excited for this month, though, because we have a super exciting opportunity for you to shop and give back at the same time.
March 22 is World Water Day, a day centered around raising awareness of and funds for those who don't have readily available access to clean water in America and worldwide. This issue is one that most of us don't often have to even consider -- we just go straight to the faucet. Without access to clean water, though, it's nearly impossible for many people to carry out their day-to-day lives in a healthy way, and lives are in danger.
Starting now, 15% of all retail sales and 10% of all wholesale sales in March will go to Charity:Water, an organization devoted to providing safe, clean drinking water to those in developing nations. We're so excited for this opportunity to give back, and we hope you'll join us. We'll be updating on our progress using this link. You can also follow along on our Instagram.
All that being said, our Card of the Month this month is all about the importance of giving.
This card from our Old Try collaboration collection is special because it communicates a simple message so beautifully. We think it totally captures what's so great about giving back. When we lend our time and support to organizations or people that need it (or just hold a door for a stranger, or buy a friend a coffee) we feel good, too, and we deepen our strength of character. This month, we're thinking a lot about this card and about lifting others.
Kindness + Card Making
As you probably already know -- or could guess -- I really value handwritten notes and letter writing as a whole. That's why our cards are blank on the inside. We want you to say what you mean and we want you to write it in your own words and your own handwriting. It's such a lost art!
That's why when I was given the chance to visit my oldest one, River's class and talk about writing cards and practicing thoughtfulness, I took it.
Not only is letter writing crucial, but we think it's even better when it's taught at a young age. In our home, we make writing notes common practice.
I loved getting to speak to a room of little ones about why writing notes is a kind and loving thing to do. It was the coolest thing to watch how excited they all got, and to watch them make their own cards. There's nothing like seeing a little one write their friend or parent a love note. As I always say, the world needs more love notes.
I'm going to be scanning in each child's card project and creating a copy for every parent in the hope that it'll become a special artifact and memory for years and years to come... and in the hopes that it won't be the last card they write!
Encourage your little ones -- and yourself! -- to write more notes. You won't regret it.
